Fritos are awesome no matter how the bag is opened. They are even better if someone else is paying for them!  :banana-jumprope:

As long as you are not getting paid or compensated in any way you DO NOT need a CDL no matter what you're driving. HAZMAT does NOT count in that rule.

That is not correct once you are operating a combination. The class of license is the issue and Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1986 changed that. There are certain exceptions (military/some farm operations, RV foe personal use, etc.) but those you listed alone are not it. It's a Federal requirement and states have to all abide by it.

That might explain why the larger motorhomes are single unit vehicles.  Not combinations.

Good info.

Ok Zeek...

our rigs got nabbed at the tolls for class 1, 2, 3 and 4 through various tolls.  I’d love to know what we should classify as.

Interesting you bring that up.

We regularly refer to our K9 beast as "frito-dog".....

Ok :occasion-clown::occasion-clown: back on to toy haulers. I surveyed the damage to mine and got some Delphi connectors coming to replace the cheapy ones that were shredded. Figuring out the wiring is not as bad as I thought. Crawling around underneath it I did find pieces of steel belt wire imbedded  in the whole back of the belly pan like darts. Never underestimate the power of 80 psi letting go at 170 miles an hour.

I talked to my insurance guy Kev.... 500 deductible. May turn it in yet with some inflated prices. Called the dealer bought from and they wanted 105 JUST to do an insurance estimate plus 70 clams in diesel to get it there and back. Is that nuts or what?

Anyhoo repairs underway and you ain't gonna believe this Dan. Those struts that hold the skirting that got trashed, three of them total,  were nothing more than the AL bottom rails of garage doors!

So is that 2 tires that have crapped out? I'd replace them all cept the other new one.

Not surprised build quality and materials haven't changed much since my days in a RV shop.

They gotta lighten them up some where. If it were built like a tank you would need a Peterbilt instead of a Dodge to pull it.
