Racinbob 11,045 #1 Posted May 23, 2021 A lot of folks here are great gardeners with their veggie and flower gardens. @Lane Ranger is one that comes to mind. I used to have a kick butt veggie garden but never did so well with flowers. I never tire of Mother Natures gardening skills. I took a ride out back this morning with the intention of snapping a few pictures. I didn't have my glasses and the sun was washing out the screen so I just snapped 8-10 pictures in the direction of the wild flowers. I figured that some would turn out good. I went back inside and checked them out. Not a single picture of the flowers. But I did have 8-10 pictures..............of my face. In order to avoid nauseating everyone I just deleted them and went out back again with my glasses to try again. This time I was successful. I don't recall seeing this amount of wild lupine out there last year. Butterflies are attracted to them and we definitely have plenty of those. Let's see some more of Mother Natures, or your work, where you live. 1 7
stevasaurus 22,711 #2 Posted May 23, 2021 That purple stuff is all over around here this year also Bob. Really adds color to the landscape.
Lane Ranger 10,946 #3 Posted May 23, 2021 Lupine is a sign of remnant dune sand being pushed off Lake Michigan Bob! Starke County had the worse sand erosion levels in the State of Indiana. They use to get the most wind break money applied to local farmland! You should have those lupine pics blown up and framed!

Interesting Lane. I didn't know that but it makes sense with so much flat open land here.
The Tuul Crib 7,336 #6 Posted May 23, 2021 Here is a couple of interesting subjects. The purple flowers are scattered about my hillside and that tall plant I'm not sure what it is but it's about 6 feet tall! 4
Lane Ranger 10,946 #7 Posted May 23, 2021 The Tuul Crib: The common named most used is Snot Weed. But it is a spiderwort! I have them in my backyard flower garden. I'm thinking of that "corpse" flower that I saw at the Bronx Botanical Garden.
