Maxwell-8 4,276 #1 Posted May 21, 2021 I have a old lawnmower 5speed gearbox, mainly used on rear engine-mowers It's for in a project, It has a belt input, and chain output but I have no clue what type chain it uses. Had a 420 sprocket but that wasn't the right one. Any help is appreciated!

peter lena 8,632 #3 Posted May 22, 2021 @Maxwell-8 link should have a number on it like # 40 , or similar , most critical on chains is the correct lubrication , like OPEN GEAR , OR SPECIFIC CHAIN LUBRICANT , that has an anti fling rating to its use, makes chains and the related steel gearing really stand up . should be easy to look up , pete
