ebinmaine 67,619 #1 Posted May 20, 2021 Been doing some experiments with the chipper over the last few weeks. Had it mounted "centered" and the belt wasn't quite lined up. Today a made up a 1" spacer and moved the whole assembly over 1/2". Still not sure I'm happy with it. I'll post more later about that. I do know the belt is a bit on the long side for only having the 3 pulleys and no guides. But on the plus side it EATS TREES !! Here's a video... P. S. I'll be taking recommendations for a color of the chipper for when we repaint it. I'm leaning a little towards a bright gloss red. Maybe yellow. Black. Grey. 3

JAinVA 4,619 #5 Posted May 21, 2021 Good thing it's on the 160. The newer machines with the pto interlock wouldn't allow what you are doing unless you were in the seat or had someone in it. I really like the chipper you have there. 1

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,046 #13 Posted May 21, 2021 Eric Do you have the baffle plate that hangs over the shredder discharge? It limits how far the chips get thrown. Those odd long pieces that get past the screen will get chopped up if you use a fork to reload them back into the shredder along with material already shredded. Have a light plastic bedding fork and a 10-tine metal fork for that. Garry

I have noticed the occasional long twig not being cut up. I do appreciate that trick about using a fork full of chips to reload those sticks.
