reginab 56 #1 Posted May 16, 2021 (edited) OK, so I finally got my lift, scored one today, and when I took off the front wheels I noticed the left spindle (right in picture) is shorter with a different setup. My guess would be that at some point one of the tubes developed a leak causing the calcium chloride it get in between the tube and the rim. This would cause the rim to rot out. Instead of looking for the correct rim, the PO installed a newer rim and adjusted the spindle to work. Just my theory. 2 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

oliver2-44 9,761 #9 Posted May 17, 2021 The correct rim for your RJ also fits the 1960 * 61 WH Suburban. As mentioned they have a longer center axle tube than most rims. because of the Calcium Cloride rusting them out they are a little hard to find, buth they are out there.
