Maxwell-8 4,277 #1 Posted May 16, 2021 I am always struggling with the float needle and seat on carbs. every gasoline powered powered machine I come across it has that problem. So I clean the carb, blow out the seat, wipe over the float needle. but they still all overflow. some times i'ts visible thru the carb, other times I go check the oil and a day after I just put new oil in her, she is overfilled smelling like gas. The needles don't look worn (or so i think) What am I doing wrong, and are there any tips and tricks?

Simulates the fuel closing the valve. Stick the float in the refrigerator for a while. Remove and submerge in warm water. Watch for bubbles escaping from a crack or hole in the float as the air warms up and expands. 1

Thanks!
