Paint day…I really hate the prep work. I tried sanding my NOS Hood which had 40 years worth of scratching and dings. Primed it and was like this sucks. Down to bare metal with a wheel…ugh. Anyway it came out well. I want this tractor don by the end of this week!

I hate body work. I can’t blend anything, nothin, nada! Bare metal is a lot of work without sandblasting but it’s the only thing that works for me….

Coming together, all metal is painted and going back on. Should be interesting to fit the fender pan  given the width of the electric lift. Has to fit cause it came apart!

Eehhrrrr.  Not a good one of course. 

 

Zoom in on the back of the hood by the steering wheel. There's a little black stripe there. It's a U shaped black molding that slides over the edge of the metal.

Winner winner chicken dinner. Lee when you first posted that I went out and measured everything. Everything measured identical. Length, height, width, bolt spacing, all of it. After all the years of having these, I never noticed the difference in those hoods- and always thought it was tires and decals that made the newer Cs look so different!

Bob, this may not be so bad.  if you take the hinges off the hood and set a rag on the front hitch, can you fit and latch the hood with out interference? 

There is not much to the hinge, should be able to modify or duplicate .   Or, How about moving the hinge pivot rod to the rear hole in the front hitch,  then drill a new hole behind it for the stop rod.

Maybe even weld up the holes on the (or better yet, another) front hitch, re drill where they need to be, may need to enlarge the angled cut on the front of the hitch slightly.
