Spacing and size look perfect on that test run, so bezel and back are currently printing in black on the new machine!

And you can always sand it a little if youd prefer frosted later!

I won’t be at the big show but it’s no rush. Whatever works for you is fine with me. I’d like the lightly frosted version since the original is slightly opaque and my LEDs are pretty ugly.  Thanks!

Made some progress yesterday getting the prints to line out, sometimes its just tinker tinker till its right. Got some of the smoothest layers ive ever printed layin down now. Should be able to see after work if the print went ok and how well the layers adhered etc., Prototype lens should be headed out to Bob today!

Slight tweak on the length of the back plate, otherwise print settings look good!

Looks like I'm about 3/16 off horizontally and vertically. I'll be re-comparing to the example lens and adjusting that spacing accordingly! Thanks @WheelhorseBob! I'll get that corrected ASAP.

Adjusted files last night,

adjust spacing, enlarge holes, provide deeper countersink, make back plate holes a bit larger than front bezel holes.

Now printing!

Got it today! And here it is on my unrestored hood. The holes were very close. Keep in mind the screws they used were 6-32 and they had zero wiggle in them. Hopefully WH used a template to drill and they don’t vary much. Thanks again! Oh I spruced it up with new stainless fasteners of the original size.

Thank you Bob! I did leave the back plate holes a bit bigger for easier alignment, and there should be a little meat left there to slightly enlarge the front holes if needed. The screw pockets look good. If ya ever want to frost the lens i did a little more testing on that ...and 300 grit front AND back seems about perfect.

If anyone wants to gloss up their bezel, enamel paints work well on these plastics. Bob's is the natural finish and texture straight from the printer.

I’d still like to get a frosted one when you’re ready to sell/ship them. Looks great.

I received the lens and installed it last night and I think it looks better than the original with the frost. It actually covers up some of the inconsistencies in the headlight bucket and gives it a very clean look.
