Too wet when you have clay soil.  Tilling wet clay leaves balls that are almost impossible to break up

I use my Wheel Horse tiller the first time I bust after plowing. I then use an  80's era Montgomery Wards by Gilson, 5 HP front tine tiller to prep for additional planting. Today I was behind the tiller for right at three hours and planted 8, 35 ft rows of corn. I have already planted beans, peas, watermelons, carrots, beets, onions, squash, cukes, broccoli, tomatoes , peppers and lettuce. The radishes are gone and they were so good. Been getting lettuce and a little broccoli.

Beautiful!

Too wet to till here in NW Arkansas after a day of steady rain yesterday. Soon, though, I hope. I need to stir things up between the taters and beans.

I enjoy tilling with my 8 speed. Plus with the hydraulic lift I don't get a workout lifting that heavy tiller!

Now if I can figure out a easier way to hook mine up...seems like the little idler pulley likes to make it difficult.

It does make it tricky! I took the guard off that seemed to help a bit.

Goldnboy I like your set up! Do you run the mid and rear lift separately? I see you have two levers.

Mid lift and rear lift is ran with same lever.

The second or outside lever I used to power  auxiliary rear items such as a dump cart and or hydraulic tilt blade Screenshot_20200601-123208_Chrome.jpg.afa8fd65b1cb7565705f392ca29225a1.jpg
