Ark 508 pulley

Would this be the correct pully for this Cessna pump? Shaft on pump is like 7/16” but the pully is 5/8”. Fits sloppy. Plus key way is different size on pully than pump.

If its gone wobble, it could wear out the shaft. I personally wouldn't use it then. but don't know much about the cessna pump.So i am gone let de experts do their word.

it had thin aluminum wrapped around shaft and pulley shoved on tight but cocked. I want to make fit right. Or find correct pully if this is wrong one.

It doesn't appear there's anything wrong with the pump shaft so the pulley is wrong if it doesn't fit tight

7/16" bore seems to be a bit of an odd ball size. If it were me, I would find a pulley with the correct o.d. and a 3/8" bore. Then I would drill the bore out to 7/16" and have the key way re-broached. I realize not everyone has this capability though. A machine shop could do this for you but I fear the price would be much more than the pulley.

I did a quick search on 7/16" bore pulleys and came up dry.:(

I had to replace the seal on mine. Pretty sure the shaft was 9/16"....

1/2" or 9/16" would be a more common size. Here is a simple way to measure the diameter of the shaft if you don't have a caliper or micrometer. Use an open end wrench to slide over the shaft. If a 1/2" wrench fits over the shaft with little slop, it's a 1/2" shaft. So on & so forth till you find the correct size wrench to fit over the shaft and find the correct shaft size.

My mistake on the shaft size, I did mean 9/16" , sorry! I did eyeball the size with a tape measure carefully. I didnt have any calipers. Eyeballed with tape on the pulley bore too at 5/8"

Again 9/16" bore is not a real common size. If you have a welder, you can put a pulley together at a fairly low cost. They offer a weld on hub in a V or W series. You could purchase a pulley of the correct o.d. in a V or W series, and weld the pulley to the hub.

Here is a link to one place that sells hubs.

Here is an example of the pulley, this pulley would require a W series hub.

A little web surfing may find you better prices.

Tractor Supply also offers these weld together hub and pulley or sprockets.

Does anyone have the specs of the correct pulley that Ark would have used? I would rather go off that spec than the one I have since it’s not the correct one. Mine measures to be 4 1/8” od. But then the belt sits down in it a bit too so not sure about any of it.

If your existing pulley has a 5/8” inside bore and the shaft is 9/16” outside dia.use one of these shaft sleeves
