One would think that with my love of The Bluegrass Music that I wouldn't even recognize that, but Metallica is one of my favorites too! I only really don't like two types of music.... Opera and Rap. Opera - people singing when they should be talking. Rap - people talking when they should be singing.

While bluegrass, is kinda in the 'ol WV bones(and whatever ya do dont start with THAT John Denver song around a mountaineer!) And for singin i usually gravitate toward country, i consider myself a "I like the song" guy. I usually cant quote ya artist year album etc. But a good song is a good song no matter the genre, and even genres that my ears dont like I can appreciate the skill and artistry(unless theres just none there!) There's also a whole series of recordings in the "Pickin' On __________" ac/dc, zeppelin, floyd, metallica, etc etc, but my favorite is a group called "Run C&W" They " play that sweet soul music the way God intended it to be played, Bluegrass Style. I love the Bluegrass channel on Serius XM Radio. I heard this one and it is a good’n! i don’t know if an Eagles cover qualifies as bluegrass, but the harmonies in this song... well. You know.

Just sayin'... if it ain't got a banjer, it ain't Bluegrass. I consider the Gourds 'country'. Or maybe... "Newgrass" To me, Bluegrass means the form invented by the Father, Bill Monroe. Allowed instruments: Banjo, Fiddle, Guitar, Mandolin, UPRIGHT Bass, and optionally, Dobro. Anything else, like drums, harmonica, spoons, washboard, etc etc make it some other form. Jug Band comes to mind. I guess I'm one of them old skool Bluegrass snobs!
