I got a air powered Snap off with the ring and the ring is gone. Really ticks a guy off when the socket goes a rollin.... As I stated the spring for the ball breaks. The hog ring style the nose of the gun wears out especially if you use chrome sockets on them. Chrome sockets also reduce the impact power when taking off a stuck bolt or nut. The ring groove will wear and get peened over. Now I'm talkin using it everyday in an auto shop. I still have my 40 yr. old Ingersoll impact. I think the ring is still on it. I changed it a few times but it really doesn't do much good with the worn anvil. And as the socket wears it gets worse.
