What I did to my wheel horse today

Commando800

Today I fixed my floor board problem on the 800 cut with it “it cuts beautifully” oiled some stuff so it’s ready to go for next time and got the 520-h in cutting condition. Thank you for everyone that’s helping me on this website if anyone knows where I can find a free manual for my 1971 commando 800 I tried looking on here but they only have a 72 witch is very different.:text-thankyouyellow: And if anyone would like to know I have info and model number to help.

Some else may correct me, if I am wrong , only thought the Commando 800 was a one year only in the USA , there is a 1973 Commando for the European market . Commando 800 had a 8 hp Kohler , 3 speed plus reverse trans , 10 inch rear tires and 6 inch front tires ( I am talking rim size) , Electric start with starter, 36 inch SD or RD decks . The seat on yours is not correct , only came with black vinyl seat. Gas tank on the tower. It would help if could provide serial number on your tractor.

I see from another post that your Commando 800 has been identified as a 1972 . Could you explain what is different about your tractor compared to the Wheelhorse manual?

Rim size is different also the dashboard the 72 is a little bigger just mainly all body differences I’m not at my tractor right now but those are just some that come to mind thanks.

I have one of the same model number serial 895723. I looked under the seat to find the fill/check tube for the transmission oil, and it's not there. Could you take a picture of yours??

@COMMANDO 800 Owners changed rim sizes all the time. My guess would be that a  previous owner may have place 12 inch rims on rear and 8 inch on front. I have done that . Remember your tractor is  49 years old and sheet metal does get damaged and replaced .
