ebinmaine 67,623 #1 Posted April 30, 2021 (edited) @OldWorkHorse Steve and I both need a clutch idler pulley on early tractors. The one from Trina's 856 military tribute tractor measures 3" od. How do we get these new? Is there a Sten's or other aftermarket number? Edited April 30, 2021 by ebinmaine

I'll edit my first post. I was hoping for a part number from some place like Sten's or an alternate source for new ones. I need one and I want to put one in stock and I know Steve needs one too.

elcamino/wheelhorse 9,326 #6 Posted April 30, 2021 @ebinmaine Try K & B just bought 2 deck idler pulleys from him. There was a guy on here a couple of years ago that had a boat load of pulleys for sale. You may want to do a search. 1

I was able to track down a pulley for a Bolens deck at TSC a while back. Correct pulley diameter and shaft size, but the overall thickness of the pulley due to heavier-gauge metal made it too thick to put the top shroud back on over it; had to run it exposed. May or may not be an issue for you; check your clearances under the belt shroud if you think they have a match.

I'll check it out when I get home. I think it's 3/8? Looks likely that we'll order four of them from @prondzy.

Right, about 2 years ago in the For Sale Classifieds. Steve I looked on my phone which is of course different from a pc. My listings using a search term "pulley or pulleys" only go back maybe six or seven months? I couldn't figure out how to go any further than that.

Howie 886 #24 Posted May 4, 2021 I always press the insert out of a wornout pulley and save them. A lot of them have that bearing and an insert pressed into it. Sometimes have to shorten the back side for alignment.
