bc.gold 3,403 #1 Posted April 29, 2021 (edited) Generation gap, yesterday Danny said he was looking for a shear, told him I knew of one that may be available as the owner had retired from the scrap business. Owner was trying to do a private sale and his phone number was on the fence, using google maps discovered the property has sold and the new owners are using the property as an impound lot. Should know later today if the shear is available. Speaking with Danny on the phone this morning, he's thinking hydraulic, these kids just don't get it. The scrap yards first used these mechanical shears back in the late 40's and early 50's, one yard in Vancouver I contacted this morning have two their still using on a daily basis. For your entertainment the Wheel Horse operating a mechanical shear, the one I'm after is much larger. Edited April 29, 2021 by bc.gold 8 3

Jeff-C175 7,202 #4 Posted April 29, 2021 (edited) No sump pumps were injured in the making of this video! NOT! That thing is a monster. Much more entertaining if you set playback speed to 2X! 41 minutes ago, SylvanLakeWH said: Fingers and toes And arms and legs and torsos ! Stepney 2,325 #5 Posted April 29, 2021 Worked with a few of those myself.. I've run my 1926 Maytag washer and a 1910 Hildreth wood splitter off the Electro 16 more than once when the old engines act up at our shows.

I can't / won't ship them. They need work though but at least one was running 10 years ago. Keep it in mind...
