They all related stories about shaking their shoes to make sure there was not a scorpion in one before they put them on. While I was walking the dog in the state game area yesterday, I saw what looked like a piece of heater hose lying on the ground. When I took a closer look at it, I noticed that it had scales on it - right before it slithered off. Surprised the dog, too.
