6wheeler 603 #1 Posted April 25, 2021 (edited) Hi all. I have a question on my C-160 automatic. So, finally? After 10 years( I am not complaining), the battery died. But? Before that happened? The voltage regulator had enough of my crap. I put on a new one. We were good again. But? The voltmeter got off the reservation shortly afterwards. I tested the stator before the new regulator and was getting 28 ac/dc v. I know that is just a touch low.30 is ideal. But? It worked. I had 14.2 dcv at full throttle at the battery w/multimeter. Now? With the new battery? I am getting 15dcv. To me? That's a bit high. Any thoughts? Also? Looking for a decent analog voltage meter. Thoughts on those also. johnnymag3 2,520 #2 Posted April 25, 2021 Nothing is way too far out of range with your numbers, Compare your Voltmeter to a reading from a DVOM meter and compare. Is very nice). My goal was to narrow the tractor down as far as possible. This is to cultivate between the rows in the gardens. It is now at 32 inches wide. The rear tires and wheels are from a walk behind tractor. The bolt pattern is the same. The fronts are from a rear tine tiller. Which I narrowed an tapped for grease fittings. I run brass bushings in front. So? The voltmeter is original to the tractor. I tested everything with my multimeter because? The voltmeters cannot be 100% accurate. Plus? The voltmeter doesn't work. I am going to put a new one on it. Preaching to the quire, my multimeter and the voltmeter on my 520 show two numbers, the one on the tractor is good for an estimate but I still don’t trust it too much.
