oliver2-44 9,765 #103 Posted May 4, 2021 @Wellingtontx There is a large Antique tractor and Engine show in Temple the first weekend in October hosted by Texas Early Day Tractor and Engine Association. It is one of the bigger shows around, and they have quite a few permanent displays on their grounds including a Cotton Gin and a large pavilion full of giant antique engines, of which some run. The number of Garden Tractors there is growing each year. This past year I would say there were around 40 Gt's of all brands. Probable 100 old tractors and a good group of hit and miss engines. As it gets closer maybe we can get several of the Texas guys to meet there. I too would like to go to the Big WH Show, but its not in the cards this year. stevasaurus 22,767 #108 Posted May 30, 2021 You would probably be OK with that. It's the grooves that mater here. If you decide to keep that bolt, I would replace the 1/4" ball for sure. I think I would replace the bolt if I could easily find one. Actually, TORO may have new ones...it would be worth a call. You can find those balls for cheap at ACE and such places. stevasaurus 22,767 #114 Posted May 30, 2021 That is what you want...it is a one piece unit. Not sure what schematic you are looking at. 3-33 is just a page number with a part numbered. When you go to the 3-33 you will see Part # 3503...that is the hi/low shift fork assembly. $57 On the other hand, there are plenty of guys that have changed out that part, they might have the bolt that comes with that. Would simply not have tackled the project without the help, encouragement and videos on this forum. Hopefully will get things buttoned up later this week. Just hoping everything works once I get it together - fingers triple crossed. Now as far as transmission oil - I see in the manual that it says two quarts; however, I don't see an actual oil spec. stevasaurus 22,767 #124 Posted June 14, 2021 90 wt gear oil is the oil of choice. 80/90 wt is just fine. Your transmission looks fantastic...nice job. Once you close it up, turn the input shaft counter-clockwise in all gears before you put it back in the horse.
