WHX??

:WRS: Kenny

A 8 HP would be correct but there ain't a person here who fault you from say a 7 HP K161.

Squonk's a faster typer but also appears he left his welcome manners in the top drawer today! :angry-tappingfoot:

BTW you might be able to squeeze a K241 in there with a short base like a 1045 or a 1055.

Looks like the group has you covered. 8hp Kohler K181 would be the correct engine for an 875

Thank you all, beautiful tractors btw,I'm glad I found this site, unfortunately if I try to mount the 14 horse the hood would have to be raised and I would like to make it as original as possible, any input on a 8 horse near northern Michigan? There a little tricky To find

@Kennyb They make a low profile oil pan that helps you squeeze big blocks in small places.  In the engines section here is a thread pinned at the top about big block Kohlers and oil pans .

Won't fit without altering the height of the hood and or hood stand.

Get a short pan. BIG BLOCKS IN SHORT FRAMES RULE!!!! :USA:

:WRS:

As you can see in Jim's @WHX24 picture the 10/12 HP engines that will fit under your hood are a lower oil pan engine.

:confusion-confused:    One option you may want to consider would be fabricating a front hood hinge that will raise it enough to clear the 14 HP engine and make a short riser to elevate the dash tower enough for the hood to rest properly.

If you put a short pan in it just don't forget to change out your oil splasher on yer

connecting rod! Actually that would be just more work than just changing it out. Possibly a ring job or more!

:text-yeahthat:

I had to do both of these things to fit the 10hp diesel in into "Radpferd", my 1045D

@Kennyb i check creagslist and Facebook all the time for wheelhorse stuff. The engine in your 875 is a generator type which is a little harder to find but i have seen them for sale. If you want to keep it original keep looking you'll find one. Put an add in the wanted section below. Here's the link
