Thanks, the Broom was a try, i didn‘t imagine that it will work.

it was just a crazy idea i tried, but it works much better than i ever expected.

 

plus - it is simply changable.

2 new brooms are 4$ That‘s a pretty cheap solution.

 

Buddy Eric Bear, i must Rest for this Week with my shoulder to heal.

Tomorrow i got another shot directly into the joint to stop the inflammation.

It begins to heal, but if i get in a rush, i can slowdown the healing process.

 

So i must be patient, otherwise I face an Operation

a issue that feels harder for me than a half ton heavy Rock in my neck - believe me.

Do what the doctor tells you and enjoy the rest for just a few minutes. 

 

I'm no good at sitting down and resting either but I've reached a point where quite often my body doesn't give me the choice.

I like my tiller, not Wheelhorse, although I have the WH one as well. I have a selection of rollers, a giant ground aerator, which weighs as much, if not more than the horse! The horse pulls it no trouble, even when it’s at full depth. A self powered 4ft flail mower, converted from a a quad front mounted unit. Drawbar on flail also fits onto aerator, which was originally 3point mounted. + chain and seed harrows, de- thatchers etc, the list goes on and on. Next thing on the drawing board is a 3point self powered Sickle bar mower, I have a spare 71/2 hp motor with a gear reduction unit, this needs to be ready for hay season! Since fitting the three point my snowplough won’t fit anymore 😢All of these are used regularly around the paddocks!

I've got an air compressor in the works, have a generator and a Mighty Mac shredder.

But I have considered a reduction drive for my ice cream freezer..

That'd be tempting for a show horse.

Shoulda seen the rest of the tractor,,,, she's a project alright .. Dan was just working on it for a guy from his work and broom kinda fell off the tractor and got to stay with Dan.

It's still in tinker stages but I pieced it together a few times. Little 2 gallon steel tank on what was a portable compressor. Pump was rubber mounted on the side, it ran a blast pipe in a pellet boiler.

I used a York AC compressor pump off an old Mercury and the AC clutch is my kick-out using a Craftsman pressure switch. I had three safeties on there .. just to be sure. Not really intended purpose of such a machine but it works. They pass oil bad and it could really use a separator. But for odd jobs it was alright, rated about 5cfm AFAIK. 

Places online rebuild them 'better' and get them to stop leaking. For my purpose I really don't care enough to pay what they get for a pump, around 450.00.

The whole rig is just welded to an old mule drive and clips to the front.

My best back-saver/work-saver is a home built leaf blower. We have a LOT of trees and once the leaves start falling this is my best friend.

Once the leaves are on the lawn I use a 42" rear discharge mower and pull behind 42" lawn sweeper to move them to the compost area.

 I know I have had these pictures on here a ridiculous amount of time but it is my favorite, a Tine Rake. For something so simple and requires no maintenance it does a super job on the lawn, trails and frontage.

I can see how an portable & self propelled air compressor would be real handy tho! Mount a hose reel on the tractor ....

I could use the sweeper at my house.  Maybe I'll load Rosie up in the horse trailer and bring her home this fall.

@ranger  nice selection of implements!  Have you found a poop picker-upper yet?  I have seen giant vacuums that can pick it up, and have considered trying a leaf sweeper to see if that would work.  

We generally drag with a harrow in the fields, but the dry lots really should be picked regularly.  I've enjoyed scraping them down with the grading blade, but want more options.

Yes I’ve had a couple of them, they work quite well in longer grass, but can be messy if the filter screens don’t do their job properly. If you think the high level exhaust can make your hair smelly, wait till you try one of these!!! The ones I’ve had chopped up the poo or whatever you happened to suck up. Everything went through the fan rotor! The brand name was “Terra-Vac”. If you have pastures that are grazed quite short, a sweeper may be an easier option. You can get them with either engine / pto / or ground driven options, they tend to be less messy than a vacuum version but not as effective in longer / thicker vegetation. The vacuums do make a lovely job of chopping up the poo for composting though.

Two types of roller, the ‘Land’ or ‘Flat’ roller would be used to consolidate or flatten / level ground ie your paddocks after a wet winter where you have lots of hoof prints and ruts etc also if you’ve sowed any grass seed, you need to roll it to ensure good contact with the soil. The ‘Cambridge’ or ‘Ribbed’ roll is used on cultivated ground to break down and level the soil, I use mine when I’m re-seeding because the sharp ribs leave a nice groove in the ground for the grass seed. A light harrowing, and rolling with the flat roll leaves most of the seed well hidden from birds etc. One thing to remember, with either roller, if you want to break up ‘Clods’ of soil, you travel fairly fast, for ‘Shock’ effect. If you want to flatten or level the ground, you travel Slowly, to allow the weight of the roller time to do it’s job.
