Mickwhitt 4,642 #27 Posted April 23, 2021 A clamp will only work if the wider tube has saw cuts made along the length of where the clamp will sit, other wise the pipe will not close up onto the narrower diameter tube. Mickwhitt 4,642 #28 Posted April 23, 2021 This is the stack I made and fitted to Fred. Stainless pipe all brazed up into a silencer (muffler). I made a support bracket for it too so that I could use flexible pipe. The clamps are shown here with the saw cuts to allow the pipe to close up under the clamps. I see your point about the saw cuts, need something to be able to narrow the opening. Kind of like a dart on a dress. Do I even need clamps? There were several muffler glue/weld type products displayed next to the pipes. Would that work? Love the big muffler!! PS- There is an art to climbing a ladder in high heels. In reality it doesn't make much difference unless you're dealing with race engine applications. You have gravity working in your favor to hold the pipes onto themselves. The pipes are large enough that they will likely be very free breathing while the engine is running. You could just try it out and see what it's like. I think it should be mandatory for anyone using a ladder to wear ‘High Heels’. After all @krystolo you with the horses Would know that originally "cowboy boots" were made with high heels for just that reason in comparison to the stirrups.
