The Tuul Crib 7,338 #1 Posted April 8, 2021 Anyone familiar with the Intek 22 hp Briggs motor. It hesitates to crank when starting but does start eventually. Is this a valve adjustment on these motors? If so what are the adjustments supposed to be on this motor?
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,243 #2 Posted April 8, 2021 Post the model and code numbers. We may have a manual. Some the valve adjustment is critical for the compression release to work. Garry

Stepney 2,350 #6 Posted April 9, 2021 Yes, these do have adjustable rockers. And they need adjusting about every 2-400 hours.. or else this happens. Done quite a few myself.

Tuneup 1,433 #8 Posted April 9, 2021 Yeah, went through this on the snapper 11 Intek. The compression was strong enough to barely allow a pull start. It's a beast! Forget the starter. Simple valve adjustment.
The Tuul Crib 7,338 #9 Posted April 9, 2021 The tractor has 450 hrs on it so i guess its time for a valve adjustment. Its a real smooth running motor with not a bit of smoke. Customer wants another year out of it and thinking way more than that.
