From another trucker...

Engine oil should be straight 30.

Brand is as personal as anything.

I use Kinetix and order it online by the case.

Price is good. It has the appropriate amounts of zinc phosphate in it for older engines.

I can send a link if your interested.

Transmission filter should be Wix 51410 or Napa 1410.

Fram is not preferred.

Transmission fluid in a '73 is likely engine oil.

Perhaps @953 nut or @pfrederi could help there.

easy to check which transmission oil you have,

if it's red it's automatic transmission oil

if it's tan it's regular oil

don't switch from one to the other, always use what you drain out   ;)

:WRS: Cat

Yes 10w30. Some guys prefer synthetic for best cold weather performance. Some guys also stick with the OEM filters   Part# 79-5270 or 5990

I just use the NAPA in all of mine.

Might want to check some other things we always do on a new to us. Air filter, fuel lines & filter, electrical connections, lube cables etc.

Check the manual Ed has posted for other maintenance.  We also have repair manuals for the transmission and engine if needed.

Engine is 1.5 or 2 quarts I think.

Transmission I'm not sure but I want to say about five quarts.

May want to confirm with others but I don't think the transmission needs to be anything special for oil usage
