Polished up the fittings. 

 

Trina installed both.

Is this what you need? Fresh "USED" parts got some rust, ware and old paint. Just 52 years old almost new. Not one of those fancy spring loaded latch hitch, uses a pin comes with an extra hole to tighten on warn hitch bar.

You can saw off the part where the pulley was attached and make them match.

It can be yours just PM me your address and the name of your Wheel Horse Restoration Establishment. Just let me know I'll mail it out bright and early at our One Horse Post Office, but the truck won't come by until 5: 30 PM.

Yepp. Trina's familiar with how those work because that's what's on her 867. 

I just didn't realize the 70s hitches were too wide to clear the steering.

Got a few more trinkets installed this evening.  

 

I cleaned out the holes in the ends of the hood supports and found washers with hairpins to use there. 

This tractor hasn't had those there since the last build because the holes were stuffed with ... Stuffff.  

 

 

 

Dash faceplate assembled with cables and switches. 

 

 

 

Frame side lights in. 

 

 

 

S/G belt on. 

 

 

Holding clip for the fuel line on.

I use them alot too. At TSC, they sell the same grade by the pound. I usually just get a big bag and use them until they are gone.

I switched over to using almost exclusively grade 8 hardware a few years ago. 

Pricing nowadays is excellent. Very comparable to grade 5. 

 

The extra strength is worth what little extra costs I incur.

 

All our equipment - tractors, trailers, chipper, log splitter, snow removal equipment, etc get moved around and used on tough terrain. 

There's no such thing as flat ground here without rocks stones stumps roots except right between the house and barn. 

 

I've seen grade 2 and 5 wear out or even break with metal fatigue. 

 

It's also about corrosion resistance. The zinc coating can be had on gr 5 but it's standard for gr 8.

The one we put one was a spare from the wall.

That cogged one in the picture looks like it will work but if anything going to a fuzz longer. Definitely not shorter. Check the p/n on another K-181 S/G unit?

@Lee1977 sent a mid hitch to Trina. I cut that a bit the other day. This evening she a ground the edge and threw some paint on it. 

 

 

 

 

I started laying out the wiring harness.

The bottom bracket of the S/G belt guard was broken off. 

Trina found a spare hunk o metal laying around and made a bracket for the Millie engine. 

 

It'll get painted later this week.

Well we've been pretty on the past edge of ridiculous busy for a few days but we've got a few more things done on the Millie tractor.  

 

Here's the mid mount hitch sent up by @Lee1977   

 

 

Trina got a few small parts painted and installed such as this belt guard she repaired with spare parts off the shelf. 

 

Also above is the choke bracket we borrowed from another engine while we find one for this.  

 

Trina got the brake and clutch linkage all corrected and back on. One bolt broke so we'll have to address that when we get back from Zagray.  

 

Also seen above is the location of the starter solenoid. 

 

I've been working on building a whole new wiring harness over the last couple weeks.  

I like to use plenty of zip ties to keep it in place and away from other pieces.  

 

Trina added the fuel filter and lines. 

 

 

We got the fuel tank in place this evening. Next session we'll finish connecting that. 

 

 

In order to get this tractor in the 5 x 8 trailer we'll have to set it in sideways across the back. To reduce width and length we changed the rear tires for a set of fronts I keep for Cinnamon Horse. That uses 5 lug rims. At the show(s) we'll pop the other set back on.

There are a few things that will need to be changed swapped adjusted replaced whatever but it's complete and running enough to go to the show anyway.
