ebinmaine 67,415 #252 Posted March 17, 2023 Not much time tonight for tractah fiddlin' but we did get a couple things done. The carb is dunked in the soak em drink. Trina AKA The Paint Department did a bit of spraying on the frame to purty it up a hair. My big news. Just WOW. Is it ever.. incredibly nice... to have the right tools when you tackle a chore. A few months ago I bought a new set of ½ drive impact sockets. A few weeks ago I bought a new ½ battery powered impact gun. Medium strength. And today.... The WOW piece. A hub puller made for real work!! I kid you not. It took me longer to thread in 6 bolts and spray oil them than it did to remove the hub. Did I mention WOW?? Almost makes me want to attack one of those arrogantly nasty stuck hubs just for kicks. Almost. 3 5

ebinmaine 67,415 #257 Posted March 17, 2023 The Paint Department gave the replacement (correct) fuel tank a quick sanding and hit it with acetone. Some Rust-Oleum 2x primer on now.

ebinmaine 67,415 #261 Posted March 19, 2023 Trina's been sanding and cleaning the engine sheet metal for painting. Evidently this engine was repainted at some point. There's gray primer under the red. She'll do some more sanding on the inside of the outer cover then spray it. Gas tank and strap are in color coat now. Tan and black respectively.

ebinmaine 67,415 #265 Posted March 20, 2023 The Local Disassembly Department has been busy today. Even the transmission is off now... @Racinbob my friend you've created a VERY happy BBT tractor restorer !!! Here's the new ish fan gear. Already painted flat black. 2
Racinbob 11,050 #266 Posted March 20, 2023 Now that makes me smile Eric. I haven't quite figured out the color combo she has planned but I'm liking it. Great work Trina! 1

ebinmaine 67,415 #268 Posted March 21, 2023 After working on disassembly some more Trina spent a bit of time on cleaning the engine block. She sanded all the surfaces of the breather plates and installed that using new gaskets. Then the block was attacked with copious amounts of acetone. Between the two of us we were able to recut the threads in the exhaust. They were REALLY filled with carbon. Only the last two outer threads were open. All better now. I got one of the two 6 speed transmissions taken apart. We'll combine the two we have to make a good one for this tractor then get better gears for the next build. Even the world famous "Hoobie Doobie" balls made an appearance! 5

Excellent splurge. We have a couple of Mac tools bowls we got from my father's friend Frank cleaning out some camper stuff. Also a couple of "magnet on a stick". ebinmaine 67,415 #272 Posted March 22, 2023 I got the other transuhmashun all dis-parted from its pieces. Popped the Hi-Lo shifter pin out. AMAZING what ya can do with the right tools. Checked the bearings. All good. Cleaned up the gasket surface on the narrow side. Trina cleaned and painted the two shifters. Some brackets. The ignition coil and condenser. 2
ebinmaine 67,415 #273 Posted March 31, 2023 Me n BBT been fightin' colds and busy this last week. Finally got a few minutes to get back on this one... Trina got the engine bolted back down to the work table so she could tighten the oil pan bolts to spec. I checked the progress on the soaking carb and fuel pump. Should clean up nice. She finished the torque sequence for the head bolts while I pointed which ones went when. 4
