The chassis was/is a gift from @Herder Adam maybe 3 years(?) ago. We'll be using the mid 70s Chrysler mil-spec single cylinder engine from @Stepney Spenser. The wheels to be installed are a nice set we picked up from @Sparky last fall at @JCM Jim's North Berwick Maine meet n greet. The Dismantling Department went right to work this afternoon and spent less then 2 hours to get to where she is in the pics. The cleanup crew will be taking over soon. Here's what we'll call the Before section: And here's the current progress: Build Trina A Shop! It's just not right treating a Horse like that, having to laid it out on the ground. Good hard working woman and you want even give her a nice place to work.

Almost look like 953/1054 wheels. They have the tapered brgs. Also GT-14 and 520's have them too

ebinmaine 67,421 #34 Posted June 7, 2021 Trina spent some time wire brushing her hood today. Top and sides are down to bare metal. We also were able to get the engine to fire again. Not quite running right but it's headed the right direction. Thanks to @OldWorkHorse Steve's help we were able to get the hubs off the transmission. Sooooo I figured since it was blazing hot 🔥🔥 outside I'd dig into the gearbox. First thing was obviously the dreaded hitch pin. I pulled the C-clips out and massaged the pin back and forth a few (or a dozen) times with a hammer and a couple chisels. Eventually it came out. Next on the fun agenda was the input and brake pulleys. Brake pulley slid right off once I removed the C-clip. Input pulley. Fought. Me. All. The. Way. But I won. I planned on disassembly and cleaning at the very least and today had noticed that it has a bad wheel bearing. Looked like perhaps someone tried the old school "rope seal" method. Who's to say if or how long it held but it was falling right out today. Good news is that the axle is still in good shape. Note the differential bolts. 4 holes. 2 bolts. And they were floppy loose. Well I found them in the bottom of the case. 3
OldWorkHorse 3,045 #35 Posted June 7, 2021 @ebinmaine any damage to the gears with thos bolts swimming around in there. I usually find it difficult to fold a bolt into a horseshoe seems your transmission found the secret.

Looked ok from the outside but who knows what up there. Next time I'm at it I'll double check ✅ all the bearings and gears.

She'll be working on it more this week and weekend. I'll be getting after the transmission soon. Needs a good cleaning, outer bearings and seals. I'll need to know what to do to remove the carb on the military engine. Are parts available or are the gaskets a "make your own"? @pfrederi
