The BBT engine mechanic has the starter generator on.

She made up a linkage rod for the carb to governor.

Installed the carb.

Need to find a belt for the SG..

We bench tested the starter generator. It's good.

I built a couple wires and Trina installed them.

Confirmed the points setting at .020.

Found a plug wire on the wall that desperately needed the @peter lena dielectric treatment. Freed up the stuck boot, de-bent the terminal and put that on.

Use what ya have!

We found a 5 terminal 103990 ignition switch, muffler, solenoid.

Next time we get a minute we'll finish the wiring and try to put fire in the hole!!

Well folks we dragged the Millie into the basement workshop last night...

The 10 HP Tecumseh engine was always meant to be temporary so now we're going to swap in the correct 8 HP Kohler engine.

Also, Trina wants to put a 6-speed with Limited Slip Differential in this Beast so it's much more work capable.

Here's the list as it stands:

Steering shaft replacement.

Fluid fill ALL tires.

Engine swap to Kohler 8 HP.

Ignition SWITCH and wiring changeover to accommodate the difference in ignitions.

Transmission swap from 3 speed to 6 speed.

Fix sticking seat latch.

Add or repair hood holder at hinge and forward max.

Are you saying she was unwilling to “have some work done”? Or just reluctant at the extent of the upcoming procedures? :)

I didn't confirm the tractor's emotions.

Buy Trina some new parts to work with, you stingy old man. She just did a $1000 worth of clean sanding and painting on your C-160.

You might have this covered already but this is what I use. This is a pack of 25.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/James-Gasket-Oil-Line-Seal-JGI-63529-57/159564941

If you have a Harley dealer around, they may be able to set you up as well. These gaskets were used for the rocker box oil lines on Shovel Head & Pan Head engines. ( make sure they give you black ones, gas eats the orange ones )

The BBT and I spent a couple hours on disassembly.

I got the new ish 6 speed transmission out from under the bench and draining.

IMG_20230309_184000268_HDR.jpg.2f73ada2c4a861570013a3bc8319e085.jpg

Pulled a few bolts. The input pulley and brake drum are off.

Shifter is out.

I'd asked about a GOOD set of usable lock ring pliers a few weeks ago. Put one of the pairs I got to use this evening.

That was a very good way to spend $15.

IMG_20230309_191508936.jpg.518932024ed0142ea204970e27f82122.jpg

While I was at that Trina attacked the tractor.

IMG_20230309_184005826_HDR.jpg.f858036a23a11d2a18f1adfbdbacaa84.jpg

Sheet metal. Off.

Belt. Off.

Some of the wiring. Disconnected.

Engine. Off!

She'll be taking this one down a bit more so the paint can be freshened up.

Let me know how it goes!

Seems someone liked a different shade of red…. Like it was your density to get it!    McFly!

I don’t think I ever mentioned in Leroy’s thread… but the weekend we got that, we had just gotten home (or almost home) from camping and Norman’s head gasket(s) blew, trailer in tow.  We had abandoned him in a friend of a friend’s business’ parking lot and borrowed a truck to go get the FB marketplace deal made :auto-layrubber:  No time like ta-now to get another deal on a :wh:!

Engine is back down to bare bones again.

Trina will keep on with disassembly and cleaning then paint in a couple days,  after the upcoming snow storm.

We finished removing the wiring from the chassis with the exception of the harness for the lights.

Random question, what are the specs on those front tires?  I love the rears on Jane and they happen to be a match on the pattern.

Fair amount of work done in a short time this evening.

Trina the engine mechanic continued with disassembly and cleaning.

Oil drained.

Cylinder head is off.

Oil pan is off.

IMG_20230314_192119.jpg.84b247f5bd75e27c88c0ba5da6b2d34f.jpg

Before attempting to start the engine I had done a very quick hand planing on the cylinder head to check for straightness.

She finished that process.

180 grit.

220 grit.

Then ended at 400 grit.

Fuel pump is disassembled and hand planed.

IMG_20230314_191433.jpg.f41eaedd847360a0028d13c0e2c292c8.jpg

Steering fan gear has been removed. Waiting patiently for a replacement from @Racinbob.

Carb disassembly complete.

Check out the bowl gasket !!

Those look REALLY familiar…where have I seen those before…🤔

Same size, brand, but @ebinmaine’s are in better shape.  I don’t even remember the tractor that mine originally came on but they are a permanent fixture on GhostRider.  A great little tire🙌🏻

Eric—you guys are making great progress so far👍🏻

Thank you my friend!

More toys in the mail today for that tractor and others.

I got a 1 in pipe thread tap so I can try to clean the threads out of the exhaust a little.

Box of four throttle cables bought at the recommendation of @WHX?? And @Achto from PSEP.

Also a very special extremely heavy duty hub pulling tool from one of our awesome members!!

Hopefully there will be a little more progress this evening...
