I took it off and checked the carb over. Reinstalled. No progress. It WANTS to run. Starts instantly. It hunts and pecks all over the place. If I hold the throttle open a touch it smooths right out. Maybe an adjustment? Not sure. We'll bring it to @JCM Jim's place and if someone wants to mess with it maybe it'll run on its own. It's worth noting that when I got the tractor that had this engine from @Stepney there was no air cleaner so it's likely someone was attempting to fix it already. I'd like very much to learn what's going on with this carb. Might be a candidate for a small Kohler carburetor..... on these carbs your not supposed to take nozzle out. they used to have a service nozzle available. heres what i have done. i take a carter kohler k181 carb and put it on the hh100s. i do have a couple videos on my channel after i did it. they run great. look for the i cant believe i got a actual roper video Edited December 20, 2021 by Elkskin's mower junkyard
Elkskin's mower junkyard 1,117 #153 Posted December 20, 2021 heres a couple pictures you will need to trim the head tin to allow carb to open up fully nothing serious. use middle hole a drill it out for tecumseh governor link

I think we've got this particular carb going ok... Is there a Kohler carb that can be adapted to work on larger Tecumseh engines? I have an OHV 160 that's pretty rusty... ebinmaine 67,417 #156 Posted January 10, 2022 Me n the BBT spent some more time with Millie today. We swapped the original 5 star light duty hubs for some HD hubs with 2 set screws off a 310-8. Also added inner wheel weights while we were in there. It now has 25-ish lb inner weights and 65 lb outter weights. We got a nice set of tire chains from @pfrederi. Thanks Paul! We'll get some straps or a chain tensioner on there. The battery hold down originally installed wasn't adequate so I added a cross piece. It sits a little off angle because of a vent but it's tight. Next will be to change the ignition switch and replace the wiring harness then adjust the steering shaft. 2

The cross chain hooks should connect to the inner side of the side chain links. Some appear correct, others not so much.

I store mine in those large plastic coffee containers with hooks (coat hangers) hanging off the edge so they don't get twisted between seasons. And squirt a little oil onem so they don't rust. But I'm sure you know this! Edited January 10, 2022 by Jeff-C175 1

But I'm sure you know this! These went from a postage box to the tractor so there could be a twist in them. I store the ones for my own tractors hanging on the shed door. Trina's main worker has had the chains on full time for several years now. This tractor has AGs so we'll likely remove the chains in the spring, label and hang them. Hopefully I'll remember to spray some lube on them!
