I am going to attempt restoing this 701 shifter... I just love the pits and think it would be a a good conversation  piece down  the road. That first or second one from the bottom is what  I am aiming for.

I broke the 701 shifter in a pipe bender ! 
 

When you have a Hein Werner pump on a 701 you have to bend the shifter to clear the pump!  The Wheel Horse manual guidance tells you to bend it! 

 

Mine is welder where it broke snd I keep it as a reminder!

I had to  bend the shifter a bit to get things to work on the plow mule. A 1257 with and HY-2. Might  have got a bit too much bend says my 'nads ... just gotta be careful ats all .:lol:

@WHX24 just be careful shifting reverse to 1st.

Wow I still have alot to learn I thought there was just the 1 shifter type for the horses! The middle red one. Had to make a custom wheel horse shifter for project I'm putting together.

62-02856 - Trivia - 1962 serial 62-2856 and on have a bent shifter to clear the hydraulic pump

 

Dated November 12, 1963

Models 5025 and 5046 are the same transmissions except for the shifters.

All replacement transmissions now shipped less shifter and boot including 5047

The top shift lever is for a 953/1054.

Yes like Richard said!  For the big 953/1054 transmission.  I have for a 953 transmission I had rebuilt with an stronger 8 pinion/point differential.
