You ALWAYS need another 520-8. Very rare. Great rescue. 

 

Go get it and save the thing from the hoarder yard. 

Even if you don't want or need it you can easily resell it. 

 

You should see if there's any mid mount graders. They're a gold mine lately.

   Maybe if you want some stuff, you could wrench a couple back to life and trade work for tractors. I have found out that you can pull the head and look closely at the valves, remove deposits, and especially check for cylinder out of round by just wiggling the piston in the bore side to side. Get some Deep Creep and spray the assembly bolts a week before wrenching.Also, on these tractors, compression is a guess with compression release starting.I have some thick aluminum paint that works pretty well to re-seal the head gasket. mechanics trick to keep WWII fighters in the air that comes from a pulling forum.

 

  i bought a set of 14 horsepower black hoods, and the rough tractor has a very nice rebuilt 15 over engine that runs like a top. both were bought for his ask price of 200.00. looks do not mean a thing, but it does pay to do a bit of prospecting before you start them up. Once you get a few tractors, the parts swapped around can really make you a nice tractor for short money.

Yup! That’s for sure! Look at those mufflers, clutches, and mule drives and hoods, and 8 speeds and hydros!! Where is this? So sad!
