Wheel Horse 3D 3,795 #376 Posted March 22, 2023 A little while back we lost our white wolf dog Denali and weren't quite ready for another 4 legged child, but this fella needed a home, or else, so we went ahead and brought him home all the way from TX. Introducing Kai.....and were glad we saved him. A few little seperation anxiety quirks but great dog overall. Reminds us SO much of our last shepherd Kota. 5

That bench was built with the height of the old tool box in mind. When we relocate the workshop to the barn it'll only be used for transmission work. Likely at a raised height then.

wallfish 16,994 #385 Posted April 17, 2023 The wife with her "little" Maine Coon fur ball He's about 25 lbs now and not fat, all muscle and can reach things up to about 4 ft or so when standing on his back feet. He looks a bit intimidating but he's by far the most docile mellow cat we ever had. Basically a big baby. They always have that irritated look though 3
953 nut 55,195 #386 Posted April 17, 2023 My cousin had a Maine Coon that was a time bomb! He would come up on my lap looking for petting and belly rubs. He was calm and sedate, so lovable then al at once wanted to become a tough guy! One of his favorite fighting postures was while I was sitting in the wingback chair he loved having me hold my fist up above my head and he would sit on his hind quarters and box my hand. No claws out, just boxing and after a few minutes of that he would begin purring and come down on my lap. My cousin said I was the only one he would do that with. 2

D_Mac 8,609 #392 Posted May 5, 2023 (edited) My boy Jeffrey. Rescued from the city pound during the covid shut down. The city picked him up after he was hit by a car. He had surgery to close him back up and I brought him home after he spent a month healing. He has been the best dog anyone could ask for. He was a 50lb puppy when I got him, now he's 100lbs of muscle. He loves everyone he has ever met. Mickwhitt 4,621 #394 Posted August 7, 2023 Lost our little Lasa Apso Charlie this morning. He was 16 and had a few health issues. But he was still enjoying life until some kind of stroke hit in the early hours. Emergency vet advised euthanasia and we took that option. So tough on us but Charlie was in distress and I could not allow that. He was our lovely little snow pup, white as snow when we got him as a puppy. 7

It's like a curse, that our furry best friends don't live nearly as long as we do. 1

We didn’t have any pets for quite a while because it was so hard when we had to make those kind of decisions. I’m sorry you and your family went through this.

c-series don 8,689 #398 Posted August 8, 2023 I’m sorry Mick, I know the pain loosing a dog who basically is a family member by that point can cause. I remember when my last dog passed I felt as if he took part of my soul with him. I was physically and mentally drained for days. A buddy of mine told me that dogs will give you some of the happiest days of your life and one of the saddest. My condolences to you and your family. 😢
Mickwhitt 4,621 #399 Posted August 8, 2023 Thank you to everyone for your kind thoughts and words. Charlie was a constant companion and friend and the nicest natured dog I've ever met. I'll always picture him galloping round the fields, happy as anything, enjoying life. I tried to learn from him to live in the moment a little more.
