D_Mac 8,593 #8 Posted April 1, 2021 My boy Jeffrey and Jeffrey with one of his buddies at day play. Jeffrey was a rescue. I got him from the shelter after he was found roaming the streets severely injured. He needed surgery to close him back up. He has turned out to be a great dog. So glad our paths crossed. 8

Mrs. and I worked at a private rescue for all types of pets in NM for years then went to work for the humane society. We have handled just about every type of pet imaginable and did a lot of rescue work. Bless you for finding a friend who needed ya! 4

Mickwhitt 4,604 #14 Posted April 1, 2021 This is my little girl, Poppy. She is a Shi Tzu cross and quite a character. We rescued her from a shelter, she was very ill and neglected and we thought she would not survive the adoption process. But she rallied and 7 years on she is still giving us hell. She is o lying small but runs the joint pretty much. We board other peoples dogs as a business and she is the pack leader. Puts everyone in their place lol. Oh and she loves tractors. 3

They have great personalities, but they require grooming and maintenance that many owners neglect to give. If properly groomed like Poppy is they are usually quite durable and healthy dogs!
shallowwatersailor 3,213 #16 Posted April 1, 2021 The weather that Alaskan Malamutes love! This is Juno, our rescue, who will be 13 years old in 8 days. We adopted her 5-1/2 years ago but is getting close to crossing the Rainbow Bridge. She has had two episodes of being unable to stand in the past few months so is now up to 900mg of Gabapetin daily. But she still perks up to see her next door neighbors! 3

Had an 'ol girl named Molly a fetching fiend who was part Newfoundland and built like a whiskey keg. Once we got her weight down(felt like I was starving her) where we could see her waist again and kept her light it gave her several more years.Juno looks pretty good weight wise, but most dogs benefit from actually being a little leaner than we think is right and it adds years to their lives. Thanks! Juno is about 92 pounds so the vet is happy with that. What you see is her double coat but I can still feel her ribs. She is my third Mal and may still be the longest lived. This is my rescue male before her (Oke', also a Silver coat) died from a cancerous tumor that ruptured at 12-1/2 yrs. He was blind in one eye, broken teeth, and mistreated. But we made his last three years the best we could. Edited April 1, 2021 by shallowwatersailor 1

Our Kota made it to 16.

Achto 27,557 #22 Posted April 1, 2021 (edited) This our "Daddy's girl" Sophi. She is my house alarm, fishin' partner, snuggly fluff ball, and all around diva. Sorcha is the first cat that I've had that likes to play fetch. If you think that you are done playing fetch before she thinks the game is over, she will drop her toy in a water dish and then drop it in your lap. It's like she knows that this will get you to throw the toy again. She's pretty good at nap time as well. Edited April 1, 2021 by Achto 5 2 1

Mickwhitt 4,604 #25 Posted April 1, 2021 This is my other boy, Charlie too. He's the second Charlie in the family so got the Too bit tacked on to tell the difference. No idea what he is breed wise but he love ratting. Ignore the chick in the glasses, that is Mrs W looking all atmospheric in black and white. 3
