(The swinging hitch in the image was attached to an ENTIRE PICKUP TRUCK!) Quite a valid point. This crane has potential to be used on anything that has a 2" receiver. In my case that'll be Cinnamon Horse C160 which weighs 850lbs plus. Or, Colossus which should weigh in 1000 lbs or so. Or whatever future truck I have. This crane will have a straight down stabilizer leg. Side outriggers or stabilizers Could be an option. As a point of information: I'm a skilled trained licensed crane and forklift operator. I have better than average understanding of the differences between static weight and dynamic weight. (And the fun they cause). MORE IMPORTANT: I also have a HUGE sense of self preservation. And I'm absolutely open to all suggestions and questions.

Lee1977 6,659 #64 Posted April 19, 2021 Eric can't possibly do that, do that he is putting his boom is on the back. He could make it easy to grease the front axle.

callum12 256 #66 Posted April 20, 2021 just last week i came up with this! it also doubles as power lift for the hitch i had to remove the hook and use a D shackle to get the full motion on the hitch 1

Seriously though, a very neat and effective way to add a power lift. what I would consider doing though, is adding a bar between the two top angle clamps on the axle and braces down to the hitch pivot pin. This will not only stiffen up the winch mounting, but also relieve some of the loading from the pivot pin lugs. If you find it lifts a bit too fast, adding a “******” block will halve the speed and increase the lift capacity. Doug. Callum The separated winch I'm (sort of) doing on the crane project. It'll be part of the crane vertical mast. What type of "neat connectors" are you thinking?
