Racinbob 11,093 #1 Posted March 31, 2021 I received a PM from @542WheelHorse a couple of days ago, He was asking questions about a newly acquired RJ but it turned out to be a Suburban 400 and a dandy one at that. He couldn't post these pictures so I offered to and to start this thread. Here's the latest OM he sent me as well as some pictures he emailed me. Good morning and thank you for the response and confirmation of the Suburban. Appreicate your feedback on the condition of the unit. Fortunately this unit was always garage kept and was used for its original purpose up until 1990 or though! At this point, it was replaced by a larger Wheelhorse (no longer in our posession). Either way,much of the leg work is complete aside from fine-tuning and reassembling and sourcing help from folks like yourself and the forum. With that said, I have no problem with you posting a thread. I appreciate the clarification on the seat detail and will correct it forth coming. I do have the original traiangular belt guard, I could use some clairification on how to mount it with the spacers. I'll find a photo of the guard and shoot it over to you. Seperately, aside from peeling the belt onto the until, are there any tricks of the trade to making the belt attach? Thanks in advance of the photo of the choke. When I get some of the incoming parts (fuel glass strainer, exhaust and exhaust pipe) I can take photos of both sides. With that said, what is the backstory as to why you went with the vertical exhaust on the tractor? So far all I've mentioned in our PM's is to turn that seat spring around and the belt guard thing. He does have the guard. OK Kyle, here's the choke hook up. I thought I had a better one. If you need one showing the other end let me know. It simply hooks to the choke butterfly arm so when you move the lever backwards it chokes. Your throttle is hooked up correctly but I shortened mine to stay behind the hood stand. As far as my exhaust stack I typically don't care for them but this is just a putting around toy and when I saw the stacks Bud Andrews makes I like the way it seems perfectly scaled to my Suburban. It sounds awesome too. The K91 I put on the tractor didn't have a threaded exhaust port so I threaded them. Then it was simply a series of pipe nipples painted with header silver. It naturally supported from the engine block by the U bolt at the hood stand. It looks like your port is already threaded, To install the drive belt make sure all three pullies are lined up. It goes on the inner most pully at the engine. Simply depress the clutch and slip it on. Now here's something I'm curious about. That rear hitch. Not the slot hitch but the Y shaped one. By design they drop down like that. Why? I have one and I modified it to stay level. That's all I can think of right now Kyle.
