rmaynard 15,794 #1 Posted March 30, 2021 Looking for a source for a replacement lens for my Kelch gas cap. This is from my 1967 REO lawn skiff with Tecumseh V60 engine. Glen Pettit has larger ones, but this is 1-9/16" in diameter.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,176 #2 Posted March 31, 2021 Wondering if Glen's could be sanded to size on a bench disc or belt sander? Insert it into a bead of Seal-All. If I remember correctly his plastic is not affected by the fuel like others. Garry
Pullstart 63,510 #3 Posted March 31, 2021 It seems like people have sourced bottle bottoms or the like for lenses? rmaynard 15,794 #4 Posted April 13, 2021 Since I did not find exactly what I was looking for, I decided to think outside of the box. Here is what I found. Upon further detailed examination, I determined that the inside diameter of the top of the cap (under the lip) was not 1-9/16". It is 41mm, I found an acrylic, domed, 40.9mm pocket watch lens. All that I need to determine is whether I need to drill a small hole in it to act as a vent. Problem solved.
