ArturHawk 184 #1 Posted March 30, 2021 I have a Raider 10 used mostly with snow plow and mower deck and a frankenstein C160 (with a 12hp kohler) for tilling/snowblowing/snowplow. The raider 10 uses the old style deck (where the belt comes straight down the side of the engine) so there's not really interchangeability with the C160 so I found a bolt on front attach-a-matic, mule drive, and a rear discharge new style deck. From what I read, I can run newer decks on the older machines as long as I have the front mule drive and mount. This deck should be useable on both machines in the event one has a problem. I still have yet to try mounting the deck with either of my tractors, which is why I'm looking for advice before I get into it and have to stop midway. After talking to my mom, she decided she wanted one of her own to mow/plow/grade her driveway and I found a good C-160 (honestly i'm a little envious of all that hp) with a 48" deck. While removing the deck, I noticed it has a lift bar for the deck that neither of my tractors have. It is item 27 in the following image. What is the purpose of this bar? Both my tractors have a link that an item 20 can slide along (instead of the chain and eye bolt item 22) that connect directly to whatever implement I'm using (snowplow/deck). If this is something I need to get before installing my rear discharge deck on the raider 10, I'd like to know before I get under there. As always, thanks for all your guys help! pfrederi 17,739 #2 Posted March 30, 2021 Yes you can. here is a modern side discharge mounted on an Electro. I used the 8-5551 brackets to mount the mule drive. The trunnion rides up and down the lift rod and is attached directory to the deck. It is the heavy 1/2" diameter lift rod. If you want to be period correct you could get a front mount mule drive like last 2 pictures.
JohnD 145 #3 Posted April 10, 2021 #27 is the lift bar for the hydraulics. I'm guessing you have a manual transmission and that's why it is missing.
