Jhawkins 43 #1 Posted March 29, 2021 I’m looking for information on what I believe is a 1968 commando 8 3 speed Belgium tractor. It has a vertical shaft engine.

Jhawkins 43 #3 Posted March 30, 2021 Based on the decals I say it’s a 1968. I’ll have more information Saturday
stevasaurus 23,065 #4 Posted March 30, 2021 A model number would solve any problem. It really looks like a 1969...it has more options with some state side. You just don't see many Belgium horses this side of the pond...especially vertical shaft. Saturday!!
Rfp55 33 #5 Posted March 30, 2021 I have a 69 charger with THAT 8 hp vertical Kohler on it. The 500# weight (heavy cast front subframe) will get loads of work done with the tractor - and the engine in mine mainly needed some digging into the ignition module block to attach the trigger/ground switch where the spade had broken off. I don't have info you're seeking on Belgian horse but 8 & 10 hp were the big models once and worked fine. In my use they will do an acre of grass on half of what the 20 HP uses. The air filter element will be hard to find and muffler scarcer if need one though. Very small turning radius and quick steering may make it favored over large models. You do get into tight places with a 36" deck nicely. Good find.
