Bypass pto switch

Recommended Posts

I am rewiring my b80, basically rewiring completely. Would it be bad to bypass the pto switch?

Why would you want to do that?   I don't think it's wise to be able to exit the machine with implements possibly still running.

(not my foot BTW)

Yes. If you ever plan use the mower it will prevent you from cutting your foot off.

I'm under the impression it's the general policy of this site as a whole to NEVER recommend disabling or removing a safety switch.

In particular if you have any kind of hilly terrain, anyone but yourself running the tractor, children anywhere in the area, other hazards that shall remain unnamed, it's a bad idea to run an implement without a safety mechanism.

There are 5 different model numbers for the B-80. Care to share what yours is so we can look at a diagram?

Yeah I guess I won't, just hoping all the safety switches work as intended so it simplifies ny troubleshooting

I'm a big fan of safety switches.  I won't run any tractor without them, especially when mowing.  Bill

The safety switches are easy enough to include in your wiring. Let us know the year or model number and we are here to help.
