He just wants to get it running for another season and he's looking for a tractor to mow his yard with. Yes, better built but not so simple to work on. This little gem needed a starter, from what I remember the manual instructs you to unbolt the engine and lift it up in order to replace it. I managed to replace it with out all that silliness. I replaced the two drive belts, not so bad but the adjustments to the variable speed are a PITA. What I can say is this little Deere is Heavy!! I grew up with square fender 112 a lot like that. Regular manual lift, though. Well-built, long-lasting machine with a good Kohler engine. But it was always good for a ruckus and some language when it came time to swap the mower deck or snowthrower, or do repairs bigger than routine maintenance.
