Fun stuff!  I imagine there’s a big hand pushing these little matchbox cars up the hills and around corners!  :D

Good stuff! In the 70-80's there were auto cross runs that were held by our local "Sports Car Club". I had a Fiat 124 that would eat the courses up. We had a blast running those pylon courses at our local shopping center.

When we visited Maui for my sister inlaw’s wedding 3 or 4 years ago, we brought along an exchange student and Bastion and I did the Haleakala Mountain Biking (down hill) experience.  It’s a highly recommended ride!  As you could imagine, we were the first ones down, even stopping halfway for a relaxing lunch.  We took the early morning ride, with an extra crater visit and tour guide while we were caravanned up the mountain.  We learned that the road to Haleakala is a very big underground hot spot for hill limb/drift/racing.  There were plenty of tire marks to prove it!

Having ridden (passing cars on a pedal bike) down this mountain, I can only imagine the rush of flying up it in a high horsepower anything!

We have owned two EvoXs both having launch control. A lot of fun with a dollar bill on the dash in front of passenger. Those cars were actually scary and not for the fainted of heart.

A lot of that technology is in some of todays cars, people just not realizing it and not taking advantage of it. Case and point our 2015 Audi A3. Like most cars today it is geared for fuel efficiency, most of the times being underpowered and feeling like it is on the wrong gear causing obvious vibration on the drive train from lugging the engine. Its a turbo but most of the times turbo is not making boost. However, use it in the S setting rather than the D setting and you got a totally different car. It now acts  engine and transmission like a manual car shifting and downshifting at the right time always in the power band and turbo constantly making boost. Don't floor it unless you are ready for the outcome. Most people will not be able to control it. I can also actually roll to a full stop at a light without using the brake that is how well it downshifts. Transmission can also be used as a manual which makes it a total beast. Too bad it does not have a conventional  hand operated parking brake so we would be throwing it around the corners.
