JAinVA 4,619 #1 Posted March 23, 2021 (edited) I know a lot of you guys have had days like this. Went to vacuum gum balls in the drain field. First pass and the mower deck belt shredded. Being an older 42" deck it takes a different belt than newer ones I have. That was the last belt on the shelf for me so deck swap.Went to till the garden today. Got to the garden gate, opened the gate and got back on the tractor. Push in the clutch and put it in gear. Releasing the clutch and nothing. Main drive belt broke,and you guessed it no spares for the 8speeds just for the hydros. I stole one off of a parts machine and tilled the garden. Last pass over and tiller belt fails. Stepney 2,325 #5 Posted March 24, 2021 Tossed a steer belt on my 85 Ford a few years ago, drilled the thing and used a pair of zip ties to hold it together... actually lasted almost a month. Job well done.
