Suspension seat?

Recommended Posts

over60pirate

Anyone put a suspension seat base on their Wheelhouse (414-8) ?

Got on mine after 2 years of using a zero turn to cut grass, that had a suspension seat base. Horse was a bucking.

Thinking of putting a suspension seat base on the WH.

Also, what is the minimum f & r tire pressures? Might help. Got 14 in back and 12 in front.

Lots of bumps in lawn. Will be using WH for towing grass catcher to pick up leaves, aerator, plow for leaf pile, and towing trailers around property.

Except for my back, it felt great to get back on her. Great machine.

Should be 8 rear, 12 front on older models. I run even less.

See @JCM Jim's post below for 3/4/500.

For point of reference a 300   400   500  series according to owners manual 12 psi front and rear.

Can a spring system be added to the seats that bolt right to the fender pan?

U-channel springs are easy to do.

Will that hold up a fat guy? Maybe a stiff coil spring at the back.

I was not sure if the C-Series were different that 's why I specified 3  4   500 were 12 psi front and rear. In actuality Leo my WH dealer since 1965 who some of you met at the Sept M&G still calls the 3 4 and 500  C-Series because that's what they really are to some degree, I would agree.

Maybe I should have asked about minimum tire pressures. I'm towing a lawn sweeper and it works better with a higher speed.

Much below 4-6 lbs you may run the risk of the bead coming loose on side hills or tight turns..
