ha, if you do it is lost or covered in sh!t...  We don't seem to do workshops like yours over here, space and cost usually being the limitation. My wood workshop is a lot more clinical - fully insulated, 48 wall outlets, painted floor, etc. But can't move for tractors and tools!

This looks like a really good project Mark.

I've that you are making your own parts too. Very much the way I like to work.

I probably get more enjoyment out of making the parts than in doing the restoration. 

Looking forward to seeing the beast grow.

thanks - I just get a buzz out of making the models Wheel Horse should have built...  So then I end up with the most unique models that everyone wants!

Now my yank brain just cannot figger this out. Are the tyres mounted this way to compensate for driving on the other side of the road? Also, are the plows made to turn the furrows over on the left side of the tractor?  How about  Australia where the water circles in reverse going down the drain??? Maybe somehow that makes a double reverse condition and everything cancels out, I suppose

Maybe it’s going to be four-wheel-drive… A wealthy hog farmer who lives near me turns the front tires around backwards on every tractor he buys so that he has better traction when backing out of his hog farming operation areas that are really muddy. Or maybe he just threw them on there to see how it looks and didn’t realize he had them turned around.

haha, I just chucked the wheels on for the picture, so they are indeed on backwards... now the fronts probably will be mounted in reverse as apparently that works best on 2wd.

A bit of time on the lathe and the next phase begins. 

 

Firstly the rear track just didn't look right, so I've added 2" either side and rather than buy spacers - which are expensive....  I made my own  

 

 

and there is the first clue to my something special with the transmission.

Im pretty sure I'm going out on a limb early, but this has to be a tracked version.

Those sprockets look way too big for chain drive. 

And you did say you were aiming for unique and something everyone else wants.

I'm still stumped. I'm assuming the groove might be for a lever/clutch fork of sorts? The pins to engage/disengage?
