The Colossus project make hit the 400 page mark. Nothing against EB , grandma was slow but she was old.

Ya know, that's not a half bad idea.  Would be easy to make and install.  Might even be able to include turning brakes in the assembly.

Could you add some disc on the shaft and mount the caliber somewhere? Simple hydraulic setup for go kart .

I had considered that, but given two of my bigger tractors have them and I've never used them,  I thought it was overkill.

 

Note the Difflock on the John Deere is used a lot in conjunction with 4WD.... and I see it as more useful.

I’m sure I’ll see the story unfold soon... but this is saying it can be engaged within 1/3 of a slipped rotation?  Since it doesn’t guarantee engagement right now, will the fork be spring loaded?  Let it slip into place slowly?

given the gearing, it will be about 1/6 rotation as the pinions on the end increase the speed. Not worked out how the engage will work, it ideally needs springs to pull it out as it will naturally lock and not want to release. It will be using the High low shifter to lock it - thus retaining the original wheel horse look.
