OEM Hitch/drawbar side to side play

Tach-a-matic

After painting and reinstalling my unit I realized there is a lot of side to side play. Is this normal? I dont recall this much on my previous Horse's

there should be shims  on each side of transmission hount.

You can see the spacers in this pic... any small pipe cut to size will do...

Ohhhh that explains it, thanks!  Will get some pipe

 

Judging by the witness marks on the case L & R its been without the spacers for some time.

This! If the pins out, you can probably find a slot hitch for $15-$20. That's a no brainer.

If you don't have a lift cable for the slot hitch. That will be an added $60 to get a new one, not sure on a used price.

Since that's the case if its been missing for a while you might want to check the drain plug on the bottom of the transmission. It may have rubbed on it for so long you may not be able to get it off.
