formariz 11,987 #7 Posted March 17, 2021 Congratulations. Consider yourself a fortunate man. Not many have the opportunity to witness three generations of their descendants. I can only hope to be so lucky. 4

pacer 3,168 #9 Posted March 17, 2021 "Consider yourself a fortunate man. Not many have the opportunity to witness three generations of their descendants. I can only hope to be so lucky" At 81yrs I do indeed consider myself lucky..... I recently had my first family related "not good" event with the loss of my little bride of 61 yrs to that awful dementia. Otherwise I have 2 sons who between them have 7 children and between them there are the 7 'greats'. Almost daily I pause to be in awe that of that group with all leading productive lives, no jail time, no drug heads, no alcoholics, and all get along.... Wow! if I do say so myself! 2
rjg854 11,351 #10 Posted March 17, 2021 Never let the old man in, as long as you're young in mind and soul, and stay active, I feel you'll never be old. Hopefully you'll see great grandchildren.

I'm with @formariz on this, don't even think about the rest of it, just enjoy your new great grandson!
Lee1977 6,648 #12 Posted March 18, 2021 (edited) Stormin your still a young fellow, no use in letting things that you can't control make you feel old. Might need to buy a few more Wheel Horses before thing get out of hand. Like Jerry Clower's friend said his last son got married and momma and him had the house to their self. Jerry said they will come back and bring more with them. Edited March 18, 2021 by Lee1977
Pullstart 62,803 #13 Posted March 18, 2021 Congrats with the addition to your family Norm! I lost all my grandparents in my teenage years. My wife’s side has had many occurrences of great great grandchildren and we’ve only lost one of her grandparents. It’s great to have grandparents again. Family is everything! The girls (11 and 13) have had the pleasure of growing up with their great grandparents active in their life, be it gardening or camping, cutting firewood or having family meals. 2
haydendavid380 759 #14 Posted March 19, 2021 I thought this was going to be a thread to vent about chronic pain. I have arthritis in my knees, back, and feet from injuries. The doc had to cut up my L5 disc last year when I blew it out. I move slower in the morning than gear lube in January. I feel older ever day, and I'm a product of the 80s. If old age creeps up on you, consider yourself lucky 😉
WheelHorse_of_course 99 #15 Posted March 19, 2021 Getting old is no fun. I have never had kids, but am helping raise one now. It is a LOT of work for an old man. Just turned 60 this week!
captjack 9 #16 Posted April 3, 2021 Being 80, I would consider you young...good times with the new one.
