 There  is very little difference in 48" decks the spindles could be 3/4" or metric. Most everything else is the same. What parts do you need?

Things were going pretty smooth. It was assembled in the vertical position to this point. Then it just wouldnt go together. So I put 2 bolts in finger tight to get it on the bench. Do I tap it together or is there something internally that causes this on a regular basis during reassembly?

Something Could be bound causing that in an interference. 

I'd not force it. 

 

I have had a couple of the 8 or 10 I've had apart be a little resistant to close. 

 

Lay it back over, Pop the big side back off and verify gear positions, and especially the bolts direction in the differential. 

 

Try to get it to spin in ALL gears before reassembly. That isn't always easy because when the 2 halves aren't together the bearings are not always lined up. 

 

Remember to use a little oil wherever you think it's needed. Viscosity isn't important. I've been known to use HD30 or 10W30 for assembly.

Mounting line up pins could be the issue as well. 

Remove them from BOTH sides and clean/sand them to assure proper fit.

I know that feeling! Like @ebinmaine said check all the fitments. We learned they can be very picky! Few nail bitter moments. Especially after having to do it all 2x in 1 day lol. But once went back together works like new! Good luck hope it's simple.

The nuts on those bolts should be pointing up into the empty half of the case? Correct?

I believe so but TBH I have to watch @stevasaurus videos like 37 times every time I open a gearbox. 🤣🤣🤣

That should be the direction of nuts. (Sry for whoevers photos I stole)

Looks right. 

 

Just go around the case there giving everything a shake or two and be sure its all properly seated. 

Sometimes a shaft doesn't set in quite right or whatever. 

 

The case lineup pins have bit me at least twice now. 

 

It'll go. Just be patient and watch the videos 37 times. It's worked for me so far.

@OldWorkHorse ok. Yup that's how I have them. It's been apart. Everything looked good . Relubed and tried again. Its together. It seems to be fine now. It even shifts lol

@ebinmaine  I thought I would wing it. That's how I roll 🤣🤣. I did take 4 pics on disassembly. I think I have a complete and functioning 8 pinion trans. Next big thing. Is it gonna leak?

I hooked mine up to the pto on my 314 and got some speed in it to make sure everything was doing wat it should b4 I re installed it. Also how I clean them out fill with diesel and just set it up to run for a bit and work on somthing else while I wait :laughing-rolling: work smarter not harder lol

It looks great and the direction of the bolts in the differential is correct.  Excellent giving it a test run before installing.  Smart.  I have a bench and an electric 3 hsp motor that I use.  :occasion-xmas:

      Hey guys I have been given a box of these flap wheels.
      5.25" x 1.5" with a 1" arbor hole.
      I instantly thought great I can put one on my bench grinder. 
      Nope!    Not that simple.
      The arbor size is different, and it's to wide to fit inside the the guard.
      I thought of removing the guard but would like to have it there.
      I guess I could make an arbor adapter and a spacer for the guard,and a new tool rest,etc. More time involved then first thought.
       
      Does anyone use these, and if so what do you have it on?

      Hello fellas. I bought this 211-3 tractor. I have no clue how this mower deck comes off. I need to fix some areas on the deck, as well as replace a clutch cable. I can't seem to find pictures of a complete deck for this model as it should be. Need help.

      I've had some stuff laying around for a while now. I've had some ideas kicking around my head for a while as well.
      Well they met each other a few days ago.
      This is going to be a camp buggy of sorts. 
      Like any of my other builds I would appreciate any input anyone want to donate.
       
      The base is an 1982-88 Yamaha G1 golf cart.
