kitkit 133 #3 Posted March 14, 2021 Thats what I thought but the model list seems different . Thank you
tunahead72 2,462 #4 Posted March 14, 2021 Yep, the model list says the original engine would have been a Magnum: 31-14K802 1987 414-8 Garden Tractor 8 Speed Kohler M14S-601524 The 1986 414-8 would have had a K-321 like yours, but different spec. (60440 vs. your 60322d). The model list on this forum shows something different, but it looks like your engine originally came on a 1979 C-141. The "AS" suffix indicates that it would have had the smaller oil pan (to be mounted on a shaker plate). This all assumes the plate on your engine tin actually came with that particular engine from the Kohler factory. Is there anything unusual about the engine to suggest otherwise? gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,159 #5 Posted March 14, 2021 Kohler made serial 9120242 in 1978. Wheel Horse used spec 60322d on the 1978 and 1979 C-141 8-Speeds and Automatics. One advantage is you should now have a 15 amp regulated charging system. Garry
kitkit 133 #6 Posted March 14, 2021 Thank you , I thought it was a replacement mostly do to its physical condition which seemed much older than the rest of the tractor , When my friend mentioned Wheel Horse using what they had left I thought I might be wrong when I saw ir feel into a change over period but with all the info you supplied it seems like a replacement engine .
