To those running implements under your tractor

I don't know if I'm just an idiot or what, but I wish someone had told me this earlier.

I see plenty of pictures of the bar for the mower deck hanging down, so I know I'm not the only who who has struggled with this. Heck, I've even seen pictures where previous owners have cut them off.

This is what I'm talking about

I struggled with it knocking pins out, rattling, catching on the ground, ect, for as long as I've been messing with these.

It's a simple 30 second process to remove it. Just pull out a c clip and it slides right out.

Just crawl under there and pop it out and poof! No more bar hanging down!

When we are using the plow on the C81, we just zip tie it up out of the way.

My 502 Putt Putt rattles and clanks like crazy.  If there wasn’t noise, I’m not sure what I’d do with myself!  The lift arm, steering shaft and a few pieces of metal in the toolbox, all give a little extra character to the runnings around :handgestures-thumbupright:

I don’t know...

I use it for both my front blade and deck... and, when not using it I figure it’s kinda like certain other parts... best to keep’m hangin’  around for when you need em...

If you catch that bar on the ground in reverse, it will stop you dead with the back wheels off the ground. Happen D to me in the middle of snowblowing. I tie it off or remove it.

huh. mine has a chain attached to it that is loose enough that it has full range of motion, but it won't go down far enough to hit the ground - it is bolted in place i figured it was factory!

When that chain becomes detached, that's when it happens. Saw it happen to a kid that was hot rodding at the Big Show too. Vibration loosened the bolt on mine. I use lock nuts now.

Removed the bar from both my C101 with a 42" mower deck and also from my 876 with a snow blade. Don't need it.  It's somewhere up in the attic of my shed taking up space. Maybe I can repurpose it some day.
