I have a couple of those mufflers.  Seem to work well I aim mine down and bit to the front.  I am not into stacks....

    Kinda don’t like the look, would love the style that crossed behind the front hood and exited through bottom

This is the one I use -- cub cadet. Relatively inexpensive on the bay (under $50), good tone (to my ears anyway) and adaptable in many ways.

Thats just an illusion guys, as you can see how the paint is long gone on them - they have been on there some 2-3 yrs. Theres about a 2-3" gap between there and has never even been a hint of the hoods paint being affected. I also have 2 of them on a D180 and 1 on a D160's K341 with same results. 

 

Heres the 180 and can get a better view.........

Still my stack muffler is kinda lame with the old chromed drain pipe!? Like to find something better.

It is. :handgestures-thumbupright:  I welded a 3/4” pipe fitting into the bottom and a stock Honda Shadow 750 baffle into the top.  It’s pretty mellow if you can imagine that!
